Graduate Alumnus Angela Esco Elder's teaching and writing focus on the antebellum and Civil War era, with an emphasis on gender, emotion, family, and trauma in the American South. She is currently teaching and working on her dissertation, "Married to the Confederacy: The Emotional Politics of Confederate Widowhood."
