Publications include Tobacco and Slaves: The Development of Southern Cultures in the Chesapeake 1680-1800 (1986, winner of the AHA's Dunning Prize and the SHA's Simkins Award); The Agrarian Origins of American Capitalism (1992); and From British Peasants to Colonial American Farmers (2000). He is working on three books: "Reinventing Early American History" (the class dimension of early America); "The Making of the American Yeoman Class" (colonial farmer class identity); and "The Farmer's Revolution." Kulikoff is also coordinating the Georgia Workshop Series on Early American History.
