Laura June Davis's teaching and research focus on American history through the Civil War, with an emphasis on gender, identity, community, and the military. She is currently working on a dissertation that focuses on the brown water Confederate Navy and their naval guerrilla counterparts.
Currently, Laura serves as the Graduate Student Coordinator for the History and Gender Workshop and as a Contributing Editor for The Civil War Monitor, a quarterly magazine. She has earned a certificate in Women's Studies and is in the process of completing an Interdisciplinary Certificate in University Teaching.
