Capitalism |
| The history department at the University of Georgia is on the cutting edge of the exciting new (and old) field of the history of capitalism. Although studies of capitalism reach back to Adam Smith and Karl Marx, the idea of uniting labor history, world-systems theory, the history of slavery, cultural and intellectual history, environmental history, immigration history, economic history, and business and technological history into a single field of analysis, with a global perspective, is cutting edge. The UGA History Department hosts the Georgia Workshop in the Cultural History of Capitalism. |
