Keri Leigh Merritt: Let the Historians Speak

History alum Keri Leigh Merritt's opinion letter "Let the Historians Speak", appeared in the New York Times July 14. A rebuttal to a previous article in June which has garned a lot of response by historians - "Historians Shouldn’t Be Pundits" by Moshik Temkin June 26, 2017.

Merritt's new book Masterless Men: A New Book on Poor Whites and Slavery was reviewed earlier this summer in Black Perspectives, you can read that article here. She is co-editor of a forthcoming  book on southern labor history with Matthew Hild entitled Reviving Southern Labor History: Race, Class, and Power.
