Congratulations to Timothy Cleaveland, who has received the Lioba Moshi Award for Service in African Studies.
The award is presented by the UGA African Studies Institute in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences for continued service to the field of African Studies at the University of Georgia.

Dr. Timothy Cleaveland is the author of Becoming Walata: A History of Saharan Social Formation and Transformation. He has also published articles in the Journal of African History, the Canadian Journal of African Studies and the Journal of North African Studies. This research was partially funded by the Social Science Research Council and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
