Athens Walking History Tour

meet at the Arch, downtown Athens, GA

Explore Athens' history by coming on out to a walking tour of downtown this Saturday. Participants will be shown key spots related to Black History in Athens, sites relating to everything from the ordeal of slavery to local Civil Rights struggles. Among other highlights, you'll have the chance to meet some of the women who helped integrate the Varsity restaurant in the sixties. We will meet at the Arch at 1 PM this Saturday, February 18th.

Following the tour, participants will be invited to a lunch reception catered by local restaurant Weaver D's.

All students, staff, and faculty are welcome.

Please RSVP by Wednesday, Feb. 15.

Sponsored by Epsilon Pi, UGA's chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, the National History Honor Society, Inc.
