Furthermore, there is a specific section of Frequently Asked Questions relevant for students and faculty/staff, respectively, further down the page.

 Student Financial, Food, and Basic Needs

Emergency Funds and Financial Hardship Resources

Undergraduate students in need of emergency financial assistance should submit applications to the Undergraduate Student Emergency Fund and graduate students to the Graduate Student Emergency Fund. Please visit UGA’s Financial Hardship Resources website at https://financialhardship.uga.edu/ for additional information.

 Food Resources

For updates from Dining Services, please visit https://dining.uga.edu/notifications. For access to the Campus Food Pantry and information about other food resources, contact Student Care and Outreach at sco@uga.edu.

 Bulldog Basics/ Hygiene Essentials Assistance

Students in need of basic hygiene materials may submit a request to Bulldog Basics. Click here for instructions on submitting a Bulldog Basics request.

 Support for Students Learning Remotely

The Division of Academic Enhancement offers resources for students, including academic coaching, peer tutoring, and virtual presentation collaborative appointments.

 Support for Staff and Faculty

University Human Resources has developed, and will continue to develop, resources for supporting our faculty and staff during this time. Please consider reviewing the following documents for helpful suggestions:

  • working from home,
  • engaging in distance-based professional development,
  • maintaining your wellbeing (including a broad range of mental, emotional, and financial wellbeing resources available through our KEPRO Employee Assistance Plan via phone at 844-243-4440 or online at  EAPHelplink.com (company code is USGCares),
  • If you would like to receive periodic news and information about wellbeing resources, subscribe to the wellbeing listserv by going to listserv.uga.edu and searching for “wellbeing” or contact Kizmet Adams at 706-542-7319.
  • Telehealth medicine
    • Anthem and Kaiser Permanente offer telehealth options. If you have non-emergency healthcare concerns, telehealth can be a good option.  During the Coronavirus public health emergency all telehealth visits will be covered at 100% with no out of pocket costs for all USG healthcare plans.

 Support for Wellbeing at Home

Several schools, colleges, and campus units may offer programming that is open to faculty and staff in addition to undergraduate and graduate students, and we invite you to follow campus programs on social media to learn about these opportunities. Of particular note are some resources from Recreational Sports and the University Health Center’s Health Promotions department:

Recreational Sports

No gym? No problem! Follow UGA Recreational Sports on FacebookTwitter, and Instagram for at-home workouts, mindful activities, fitness challenges, UGA-themed exercises, and live and pre-recorded group fitness sessions. All members of the University community are invited participate.

 BeWellUGA at Home

The trained dietitians, mindfulness instructors, wellness coaches, health educators, and clinicians at the University Health Center, as well as other campus partners, are here to support your wellbeing no matter how far from campus you are. They will share ways to stay organized; strategies to wake up feeling rested; and live virtual sessions on mindfulness, yoga, mental wellbeing, and stress reduction, among other topics.

University Health Center

Student COVID-19 Medical Guidance

The University Health Center will continue to serve as a resource for students who are unsure as to how best to seek medical assistance. Students seeking medical advice should call UHC at 706-542-1162. Please DO NOT walk-in to the University Health Center – call first. 

 Student Mental Health Resources

UGA Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS) is available for phone consultations (706-542-2273) during normal business hours, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 p.m. CAPS is available for crisis services 24/7 at 706-542-2200.

 Faculty and Staff COVID-19 Medical Guidance

If you are experiencing flu-like or respiratory symptoms, please contact your community healthcare provider. Your healthcare professional will work with your state’s public health department and CDC to determine if you need to be tested for 2019-nCoV. 

 In addition to resources on prevention and care for COVID-19, the University Health Center also continues to offer several resources for students, faculty, and staff at this time:

 Pharmacy

The UHC Pharmacy is offering curbside service to minimize risk to patients—please call 706-542-9979 with any questions or needs. The Pharmacy’s services are open to all UGA community members to refill and/or transfer prescriptions.

This service is available Monday-Friday, 8am - 5pm and Sunday, 10am - 5pm.

 Vision Clinic

You may order contact lenses online or by phone: 706-542-8617. Direct shipping is available. Please call the clinic with urgent matters.

 After Hours Nurse Line 

If you are a patient of the University Health Center and wish to speak with a nurse for illness or injury advice, call 855-622-1909. *Please note* This after-hours advice service is available only when UHC is closed. Call 706-542-1162 during regular clinic hours.
