Image: We're excited to share that the Hot Corner history podcast has launched! Episode 1 is out now, Episode 2 will be available today, June 15, and a new episode is being released each week. The 6-part audio documentary, Hot Corner, is a story of what one block in Georgia shows about the dividing lines in our lives, and what Black communities have built in the spaces between. It is a contribution to ongoing efforts to document and share the history of Hot Corner, the storied Black business district in downtown Athens, Georgia. This project was created in partnership with Enlighten Media Productions and in consultation with the Hot Corner Association. The Hot Corner series was reported, written, and produced by Alexander (Aleck) Stephens and Broderick Flanigan. Aleck Stephens edited and mixed the show. Anthony A. Hill (AKA P.O. Broderick Flanigan is an Athenian artist, community activist, and business owner. Local hip-hop artist Anthony Hill performs under the name P.O. the Priceless One. Hill recently premiered a self-produced EP, Self Reflection. Aleck Stephens earned a Master of Arts in History at the University of Georgia in 2016, and is currently a Doctoral Candidate in History at the University of Michigan.
