Graduate Student Gabriel King is a student of the long civil rights movement and the post-emancipation American South, specializing in lynchings and racial violence. His work situates postbellum white supremacist violence within international scholarship on human rights, mass atrocities, and genocide. He holds an M.A. in History from the University of Missouri–Kansas City and a B.S. in History and American Literature from Northwest Missouri State University. Before joining the University of Georgia, he taught early American history at Metropolitan Community College–Kansas City. In his free time, he watches too many movies.
