Horace Montgomery

A native of Derrick City, Pa., Professor Montgomery e attended Pennsylvania public schools and graduated from Ohio Northern University. He received his master of arts degree and his Ph.D. from the University of Georgia. The later degree was the first doctorate granted by UGA. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and taught in the UGA Department of History from 1947-1978. He was a Fulbright Professor at the University of Innsbruck, Innsbruck, Austria, in 1960.

A Medical History of Georgia: The First Hundred Years, 1733-1833
