Born in Costa Rica, I attended the University of Pennsylvania for my undergraduate degree in European history. Subsequently, I enlisted in the Marine Corps and served four years in the infantry before being honorably discharged as a sergeant. I obtained an MAT at Emory University in 2009 and taught social studies at a Dekalb County public school. Project area: US/Latin American relationships with an emphasis on Costa Rica in the 20th century.
