You are eligible to join Phi Alpha Theta if you have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in at least 12 or more hours of History coursework and an overall GPA of at least 3.0. UGA’s Hahamovitch awarded 2021 Guggenheim Fellowship Cindy Hahamovitch, B. Phinizy Spalding Distinguished Professor of Southern History in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, has been awarded a 2021 Fellowship by the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation. Hahamovitch is one of 184 artists, writers, scholars and scientists chosen through a rigorous peer-review process from almost 3,000 applicants. Guggenheim Fellowships are intended for individuals who have already demonstrated exceptional capacity for productive scholarship or exceptional creative ability in the arts. Gender, Race, and Slavery in the Atlantic World: A Zoom Speaker Series Please see our events listing for details and a link to Zoom reservations. Graduate students in history who attend will receive a copy of the book in advance. A short presentation about the book will be followed by a Q and A session and general conversation. This series on Gender, Race, and Slavery in the Atlantic World is presented by the History and Gender Workshop, and funded by a Faculty Research Seminar Grant from the University of Georgia’s Willson Center for Humanities and Arts.
